Jump Rhythm Jazz Project: Getting There
Getting There profiles the groundbreaking dance company Jump Rhythm Jazz Project. Founded by Ruth Page Award-winning choreographer and dancer Billy Siegenfeld, Jump Rhythm rewrote the book on what jazz dance can be, creating styles of movement never before seen. That’s not hyperbole; Dancer magazine credited Siegenfeld with “inventing the first genuine jazz technique in forty years.”
And wow, did people love this show. The Chicago Tribune called it “Highly enjoyable, thoughtfully shot, effervescent and sly,” adding, “Somewhere, Fred Astaire and the Nicholas Brothers are smiling." And The Windy City Times wrote that the show “gives the viewer a unique look inside creative inspiration, so that both strangers to the company and longtime fans will be surprised and delighted."
And top of that… 4 Emmy Awards.
