Catherine Haremski
Producer

Catherine joined the HMS Media team in July 2007. Her strong background in independent film and arts management and Film/TV degree from Columbia College instantly made her an invaluable part of our team.

Since joining HMS, Catherine has spent years fostering a deep familiarity with regional arts organizations and collaborators.

Catherine embraces HMS’ emphasis on being a “story-first” production company. To her, bells and whistles are fun, but without a good story, nothing else matters. She seeks to reach the minds and emotions of the viewer by crafting compelling and moving stories that capture and appeal to fundamental human perspectives. (Little wonder she was a key member of the board of directors for The House Theater during its storied run in Chicago.)

Whether producing behind-the-scenes content Broadway show, telling the story of a cancer survivor story or a inviting viewers to experience the thrill of a university theatre program, Catherine’s goal is to create a relatable, memorable and inspiring experience. She has fostered relationships with some of Chicago’s most esteemed organizations like Northwestern University, The Fry Foundation, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Steppenwolf Theatre, The Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, The Harris Theatre among many others. She has also worked closely with the national organization Association of Theatrical Press Agents & Managers.

In addition to producing, Catherine has played another key role in many high-profile HMS projects. As Assistant Directed for many of HMS’ multi-cam productions for broadcast and live IMAG, she brought invaluable skill to such projects as A Christmas Carol: The Concert, The Second City Guide to the Opera and the Fathom Event, Bandstand.
